WASHINGTON: A 20-year-old woman was arrested in the case of brutally killing her lover's baby. The woman killed the 18-month-old baby by making her consume batteries, screws and nail polish remover. The incident took place in Pennsylvania, US. A woman named Aleisia Lynnae Owens was arrested yesterday in the case of the murder of a baby girl named Iris Rita Alfera.

The incident related to the case took place in June last year. The turning point was the discovery of excessive acetone in the baby's blood at the post-mortem examination. The report also states that the woman did research before deciding what effects nail polish etc. would have on the baby.

The baby's father, Bailey Jacoby, was out shopping when the woman committed the crime. Later, Alicia called the father to inform him that the baby was showing discomfort. Bailey arrived home to find the baby unconscious. After that, the baby was immediately taken to the hospital. The baby was shifted to another hospital for specialist treatment.

The baby died four days later due to organ failure. The baby lived with her mother, Emily Alfera. The father was only allowed visitation. Alicia told the police that when the baby tried to get up, she hit her head on the edge of the bed and fell down. However, the post-mortem revealed that the baby had consumed water beads, button-shaped batteries, metal screws and nail polish months earlier.

Later, the police checked Alicia's phone and found that she had searched on Google about household items that could kill the baby. Following this, the woman was arrested.
