NEMOM: Karamana police nabbed the person who helped sell the gold in the robbery of a housewife's necklace from Aluva. Suresh (39), a break dancer and owner of D4 Dance in Aluva, was arrested.

On the 8th of this month, Amol Balasahib Shinde (32), a native of Jaswant Nagar, Maharashtra, was arrested by the police from Perumbavoor at 5:00 pm in the incident of stealing a six-sovereign necklace from Anjali (48), a resident of Melarannoor Premnagar. The necklace was stolen while riding on a stolen bike. The further investigation was based on the information received from him.

Shinde, who was recently released after serving a jail term in a case registered at Kaladi station in connection with the theft of a necklace in 2022, was repeating the offence. During the same period, Suresh was also in jail in connection with an assault case. Both ended up in the same cell. It was their friendship here that prompted Shinde to contact Suresh.

Shinde boarded the train with the stolen necklace from Premnagar and reached Suresh. Suresh, who was in desperate need of Rs 50,000, shared the amount after helping to sell the stolen necklace at a jewellery shop in Perumbavoor. Suresh was taken into custody from his establishment in Aluva during an investigation based on the mobile number received from Shinde. Most of the gold ornaments have been found from the jewellery and bike was found at Thambanoor. Karamana CI Sujith, SIs Vipin and Krishnakumar and CPOs Harish and Rajendran led the investigation and arrest.
