WAYANAD: Three women accused in an inter-state theft case have been arrested. The arrested Indu, Jans and Devi, natives of Chengalpet in Tamil Nadu are accused in cases of necklace theft in various places.

The police arrested the accused for allegedly stealing the necklace of an elderly woman from Mananthavady. The gang forced the elderly woman, who returned from the hospital on Friday, into an autorickshaw. During the journey, they stole the necklace. Then the gang deboarded the vehicle. The elderly woman realized that the necklace was missing after she reached home.

Following this, she complained to the police. The trio was arrested based on the evidence obtained from the CCTV footage during the investigation conducted by the police. The accused who were produced in the court were remanded.
