LUCKNOW: A truck carrying firecrackers to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh caught fire. Reports claim that the fire broke out in a vehicle that was going to deliver firecrackers for the pran-pratishta ceremony to be held on January 22. The incident took place last night at Khargi Kheda village near Purva Kotwali in Unnao.

The truck was completely gutted in the fire. Residents of the area said that the fire was extinguished after more than three hours of efforts. No one was reportedly injured in the accident. The truck left for Ayodhya from Tamil Nadu. However, there is no official confirmation whether the firecrackers were for the Ram temple. The cause of the accident is also unclear.

Meanwhile, the idol of the main idol Ramlalla (infant Rama) will be brought to the Ram Temple where the pran pratishtha is scheduled on January 22. The new idol was carved out of Krishna Shila stone by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj. The seven-day puja ceremonies that preceded the Prana Pratishtha had begun yesterday.
