SULTHAN BATHERY: The police arrested a native of Kozhikode in a massive drug bust in Wayanad. The accused H Shahul (26), of Siddique Nivas in Nallalam, was carrying 15.29 grams of MDMA. The arrest was made by a team led by Bathery SI KV Sasikumar. The accused was caught from near Muthang police check post last day. MDMA was found hidden in cigarette packets. His aim was to deliver it to Kozhikode and retail it. The police are investigating whether there are more people with him.
Meanwhile, four people, including a young woman, were recently caught with drugs worth lakhs in Kannur. Kannur town police arrested C Rizwan (22), a native of Puthitheru, TP Dilshid (33), a native of Maidanapally, Rizwan's brother Muhammad Yasar (26), and Aparna Anish (19), a native of Marakarakandi. The police conducted a drug hunt in two places.
Following a tip-off, Yasar and Aparna were caught from a lodge in Kannur while using drugs. Police recovered 1.4 grams of MDMA from their hand. Then they were taken into custody and interrogated. Based on the information received, Rizwan and Dilshid were arrested from a building under construction near John Mill in Thalappu. 156.61 grams of MDMA, 111.72 grams of hashish oil, three mobile phones, eight bottles used for pouring hashish oil and 19 covers used for selling MDMA were seized from the duo.
