THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A faction regardless of group is unhappy with the KPCC political affairs committee reorganisation. It is alleged that the 36-member committee has become a jumbo committee. This blocked the way for effective discussion in the committee that makes crucial decisions. Some leaders were included on group basis while some deserving ones were not included.

While the representation of leaders from some districts increased, some senior leaders were ignored. Some leaders who are not actively involved are also included. It was also criticized that the criteria for inclusion of MPs and MLAs in the committee is not clear.

In Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivirth organized by Kozhikode KPCC in July 2022, it was decided to implement the system of one title, which was sabotaged. It is also alleged that some people got more than one position after becoming a member of the Political Affairs Committee.

Starting with 21 members

When the Political Affairs Committee was formed in 2016, there were 21 members. Later, when PT Thomas and T Siddique were appointed as KPCC Working Presidents, their membership was increased to 23. At the same time, there is an assessment that the membership strength has increased with the addition of community and group considerations along with filling the vacancies in the committee. This was also considered since the reorganization was just before the Lok Sabha elections.
