KOCHI: A SFI leader was stabbed in Ernakulam Maharaja's College on Thursday morning. Unit Secretary Nasser Abdul Rahman, who was stabbed inside the campus, suffered serious injuries and is admitted to a private hospital in Kochi. The SFI has accused fraternity activists of being behind the attack.
As part of the MG University drama festival, drama training was being conducted in the campus. Nasser and some SFI workers were present in the campus as part of the organizing committee. The SFI activists say that Nassar and those who were with him were attacked here. Nasser was stabbed in the stomach and arms and legs. The attack was reportedly carried out with a knife, beer bottle and stick. Unit committee member Ashwathy was also injured.
The police suspect that this is a continuation of the previous conflicts. Fraternity activist Bilal was also beaten up. The police are continuing to investigate the earlier clashes. No arrests have been made in the stabbing of Nasser.
