PATHANAMTHITTA: A case has been registered against the teacher in the incident of suicide attempt by a student of Teachers Training College Hostel in Thiruvalla. The police registered a case against Malayalam teacher Milena James. The action is based on the student's complaint that the teacher mentally tortured him.

The student is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Thiruvalla. Many students had earlier filed a complaint against the teacher. It is alleged that the teacher threatened her by saying that she will fail in the exam etc. After the incident, the SFI workers detained the principal demanding departmental action against the teacher. The SFI ended the protest when it was assured that action would be taken against the teacher.
