KOCHI: During his two-day visit to Kerala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opted for simplicity sleeping on a yoga mat at the Ernakulam government guest house. He observed a fast consuming only tender coconut water and fruits, while abstaining from using a bed. The menu included dragon fruit, apples, bananas, grapes, guavas, pomegranates and oranges.
Officials at the guest house mentioned that both Kerala and North Indian dishes were prepared for the Prime Minister, who arrived at 8 pm on the 16th. Tender coconut water served as a welcome drink and a bed sheet was laid out. Rising at 4.30 am the next day, he engaged in yoga after drinking hot water.
Expressing gratitude, the Prime Minister thanked the staff before departing. His office staff and SPG officials occupied 40 rooms at the guest house. This marks Prime Minister Modi's second stay at the Ernakulam government guest house following a previous visit in 2019.
