PATHANAMTHITTA: Jayalakshmi, a first-year B.Sc Agriculture student from Thrissur Mannuthy Kerala Agricultural University and a farmer expressed her joy after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting took place at Guruvayur temple, where Jayalakshmi presented a sandalwood tree sapling to the Prime Minister accompanied by Mother Pandalam NSS Polytechnic College teacher Deepti and sister Vidyalakshmi.
Two years ago, Jayalakshmi, who holds awards like Vishma Thilakam, Ujwalabalya, and the best student farmer in Pathanamthitta district had handed over a guava sapling to actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi. Suresh Gopi then passed it on to Prime Minister Modi, who planted it in his official office premises. Modi appreciated Jayalakshmi's dedication to organic farming, stating "It is a great pleasure to meet Jayalakshmi, who is passionate about organic farming. I deeply appreciate her work and wish her all the best in her endeavors."
The Prime Minister's Letter of Appreciation for promoting organic farming was also received by Jayalakshmi during the meeting. This event unfolded after Suresh Gopi, who had promised Jayalakshmi an opportunity to meet the Prime Minister, invited her to his daughter's wedding the day before.
