THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thousands of youth will form a human chain today from Kasaragod to Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, organized by DYFI. The event aims to protest against the central neglect of Kerala. The chain will conclude at 5 pm following a trial at 4:30 pm. Protests are scheduled to commence in front of Raj Bhavan from 3 pm.
Kasaragod DYFI All India President AA Rahim will be the first link, and DYFI's first All India President EP Jayarajan will be the last link in front of Raj Bhavan. CPM State Secretary MV Govindan will inaugurate the public meeting in front of Raj Bhavan. Approximately one lakh people in the capital district will participate in the human chain, spanning 50 km to Kadampattukonam, the district border. Additionally, public meetings will be held in 19 centers within the district.
This marks the second human chain organized by DYFI, with the first taking place on August 15, 1987. The chain concluded with a message of unity on the 40th anniversary of independence. The then All India President M. Vijayakumar was the first link and Secretary Hananmulla was the last link.
