ranjith-sreenivasan-murde

MAVELIKARA: All the charges filed against the accused in the Ranjith Sreenivasan murder were proved before the court, said the special prosecutor while talking with the media. According to the lawyer, the accused will either be served with life imprisonment or the death penalty, but no lesser than this.

A sleeping Ranjith was woken up by the gang who came to his house on the fated December morning in 2021. Without any mercy and in the most gruesome manner, Ranjith was hacked to death in front of his house, that too in the presence of his aged mother, minor daughter and his wife. The sight of Ranjith smeared in blood and struggling for life will travel with the family throughout their lifetime. There were about 56 wounds on Ranjith's body. The face was disfigured beyond recognition. The prosecution raised the argument in the court that this is a rare case.

"A very impartial investigation was conducted in the case. The police conducted a thorough investigation collecting all evidence. A hit list was recovered from the mobile phone of one of the accused. Ranjith Sreenivasan was the first name in it. Investigations are on for the accomplices in the murder and those involved in the conspiracy. This will be completed soon and the charge sheet will be submitted'- the prosecutor said.
