THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around fifty people, including actors Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi, from Kerala have received invitations for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony to be held at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya tomorrow. More than 35 renowned personalities have already confirmed their participation. Among them, 20 are saints.
Many people have postponed their trip to Ayodhya to a later date due to various reasons such as the cold weather in Ayodhya, limited seating and other restrictions. Saints like Amrita Swaroopananda and Swami Chidanandapuri of Amritanandamayi Mutt will be going to Ayodhya. Saints of Sivagiri Mutt have also received an invitation. Sunil Pillai (the grandson of KK Nair, former Faizabad collector who opened the Ram Temple to devotees in 1949), Viji Thampi, PT Usha, Padma Shri awardee MK Kunjol, Adivasi leader KC Paithal, Dr Ajay Kapur (Vice Chancellor of a private university under the Chinmaya Mission) are some of the personalities from Kerala who are on the VIP list.
Although Mata Amritanandamayi, NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair, SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan etc. have received invitations they have not informed whether they will be attending the ceremony.
The state-level committee of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust in Ayodhya is responsible for the coordination of the event. Its convener is Prasad Babu, regional secretary of the RSS. The committee consists of office-bearers of movements like Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Temple Protection Samiti.
