A case of rape was filed against Nityananda in 2010 on the complaint of Nityananda's driver. Nityananda, who was later released on bail, left the country in 2020. The whereabouts of Nityananda, who claims to have created a new "Hindu nation" microstate called Kailaasa, is yet to be discovered. The Prana Pratishta ceremony will take place in Ayodhya tomorrow. Dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the function. Tight security has been imposed in Ayodhya. It is in this context that Nityananda has come forward claiming to participate in the function.
