THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 211 new projects were registered with the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (KRERA) last year. The total value of these is Rs 6800 crores. 32.70% increase over previous year. According to the authority's figures, 159 new projects were registered in 2022. 191 real estate projects were completed and 8587 real estate units were sold.
Ernakulam has the highest number of registrations at 78 (2787 units). Thiruvananthapuram is second with 51 projects (2701 units). Kottayam 11 (444 units), Thrissur 25 (1153 units), Palakkad 24 (404 units), Kozhikode 14 (723 units), Kannur 3 (128 units) Alappuzha (79 units), Pathanamthitta (41 units), Kollam (15 units), and one registration in Idukki (12 units). Wayanad and Kasaragod have not registered any projects.
Failure to register will result in trouble
Projects should not be constructed or sold without registration with KRERA. Units can only be purchased from schemes registered with RERA. Steps are also being taken to identify unregistered projects and impose fines.
