DISPUR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced police obstruction during his visit to the Battrava Satram temple in Assam's Nagaon. The visit was part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Rahul, protesting the police action and Congress workers are staging a demonstration in Nagaon. "We want to enter the temple and what wrong did we do to be denied permission?" questioned Rahul Gandhi.
Dramatic events unfolded the previous day during the Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Assam. Rahul Gandhi walked towards the protestors with saffron flags but was escorted back to the bus by security personnel and party workers. The incident occurred on the fourth day of the yatra, moving from Biswant district to Nagaon.
Protesters, accompanying the yatra shouted slogans like Jai Shri Ram and Jai Modi. The Congress alleged that BJP workers attacked and assaulted media personnel during the yatra. Rahul claimed that over 25 BJP workers brandishing sticks confronted the bus and dispersed when he got off. Rahul emphasized, "We are not afraid of anyone, not Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the Chief Minister of Assam."
