LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, accompanied by heavy security measures in and around the city. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier received the guests, and the ceremony is set to commence shortly.

The consecration of the Ramlalla idol is scheduled between 12:20 pm and 12:45 pm today. Kohl will be applied to the idol's eyes, symbolizing the opening of the Lord's eyes, with the belief that the Ramlalla idol will manifest in its full divine glory. Devotees will then be able to offer their prayers to the deity. The priests anticipate blessings as they describe Ramlalla's adorable and radiant appearance resembling a five-year-old boy.

Dignitaries attending the shrine include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Temple Trust President Nritya Gopal Das. The head priest, Laxmikant Dikshit of Varanasi, will oversee the ceremony. Additionally, 14 couples from different regions of the country will participate as 'Mukhya Yajaman.'
