THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has expressed his displeasure over the leakage of figures regarding the income and expenditure of electric buses. The minister has asked the Joint MD for a report on the leakage of documents. The report showed that e-buses have earned a profit of Rs 2.89 crore in the last 9 months. The minister said that he would take further action after studying the report.

The Minister expressed his displeasure over the fact that the media received the documents before he did. According to the released figures, the e-buses running in the state are earning profits. This is in contrast with the minister's earlier statement on e-buses. Ganesh Kumar had said that electric buses were not profitable considering the purchase price and the collection. The minister said that even those who manufactured the electric buses did not know how long will the buses run.

VK Prasanth MLA and Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor Arya Rajendran had come forward against Ganesh Kumar's stance on the issue related to e-buses. The CPM leadership also took a stand supporting them. Hence, the minister is likely to take further steps with caution.
