COIMBATORE: A woman abandoned her four-month-old baby on the bus in Coimbatore. The woman from Tiruchirappalli abandoned the baby in the bus. After boarding the bus, she handed over her baby with a co-passenger and got off at another stop. The baby’s father, a Malayali from Thrissur approached police and submitted documents to prove his relation with the baby.


The incident happened the other day. The woman boarded a crowded private bus and asked her co-passenger to hold the baby. She told the woman that she would take back the baby after reaching Coimbatore. However, after handing over the baby, she fled from the bus. The co-passenger immediately informed the police. The police took the child to the hospital. Later, the baby’s father approached the police after seeing a video of the baby with the documents.


The youth identified as Rajan, a civil engineer hailing from Thrissur in Kerala, fell in love with Divya from Tiruchirappalli and got married and were staying in Coimbatore. In between this, his father died and the couple used to fight over this and he held his wife responsible for it. Following the fight, he left for Thrissur. The police said the woman, who was depressed abandoned the baby. The man has taken his baby with him. The police also stated that they are trying to reunite the couple.
