NEW DELHI: A court has sentenced a woman to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually harassing a four-year-old girl. It was the Delhi Court that sentenced the woman named Shahsiya to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. The woman should also pay a fine of Rs 16,000.
The incident related to the case took place in 2016. The accused sexually assaulted the child, by applying her mouth on the girl's private parts. Additional Sessions Judge Kumar Rajat observed that the act committed by the accused caused immense mental trauma to the child and the parents. The woman was convicted of offences under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 354 of the IPC.
Last year, a 24-year-old woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor boy. The incident took place in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place when the woman was 19 years old and the boy was 15 years old.
