One of the biggest problems facing the world today is the energy crisis. Changes and development in the modern world require large amounts of energy. Earth's energy sources do not last forever. It will not take many years for fuels like petrol to stop. The energy generated from water flow, wind etc. will not be enough to meet the growing demand of the world. But the energy obtained from the sun will last as long as the earth and the sun exist.

In future, the world will be powered by solar energy. No one needs to take out a patent to generate energy from the sun's heat. It is enough to provide the necessary modern systems. It costs more initially but becomes profitable over time with lower electricity bills. The biggest advantage of solar energy is that you can achieve self-sufficiency without depending on any corporation or agency for energy.

The first decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after attending the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya was related to solar energy. The 'Pradhana Mantri Suryodaya Yojana' was announced with the aim of implementing a solar power project on the roofs of one crore houses in the country. After announcing the Suryodaya project, Modi pointed out that the world gets its energy from the light emanating from Lord Sri Ram, who is from Suryavansh. The prime minister explains that this project is being launched with a target. The details of the project have not been disclosed. At present, the Solar Purapura project with central subsidy is being implemented across the country, but it has not achieved the target.

Though subsidized, the huge initial cost keeps the common man away from it. Adequate research to reduce this cost should be prioritized by the government. A solar plant with a production capacity of three kilowatts is sufficient for a family of four or five members. It now gets a subsidy of Rs 54,000 from the Centre. But to complete this, apart from the subsidy, about one and a half lakh rupees will have to be spent. So it still remains inaccessible to the common man at the bottom of the society. Keeping this in mind, it can be assumed that the Prime Minister has announced the new scheme to make the Purapura solar project more attractive and affordable. Kerala ranks first among the states with the highest number of household appliances. Therefore, it is necessary for the state government to start new projects to make a huge leap in the solar energy sector.
