THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A specialized team from the Central Government has praised the health initiatives underway in Kerala, led by the state government. The accolades come after a visit by a team, headed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health, who personally assessed the situation.
The team commended Kerala's health infrastructure and physical conditions, stating that similar conditions are not found anywhere else in the country. The Ministry of Health has disclosed that the team expressed high satisfaction with health activities in the aspirational district of Wayanad.
The central team lauded efforts in controlling lifestyle diseases and implementing palliative care activities in Kerala's districts. Following this, complete satisfaction was noted in the ongoing health activities in the state.
Additionally, the central team praised the active participation of the people in the health sector and the involvement of local self-government bodies. The health department reported that the team recommended documenting Kerala's health benefits accurately.
Previously, a team from the Union Health Ministry visited Ernakulam and Wayanad districts from January 15 to 20. Subsequently, the group held a meeting with the District Collectors of Ernakulam and Wayanad.
The group included representatives from the World Health Organization, National Health System Resource Center, Tata Trust, Central Government Health Service, and nine other representatives who visited Kerala. The team inspected various health facilities, such as Ernakulam District General Hospital, Ramamangalam Social Health Centre, Manidu Family Health Centre, Aluva District Hospital, and Public Health Centres. In Wayanad district, they visited CHC Ambalavayal, Bathery Taluk Hospital, Tribal Hospital Nallurnad, F.H.C. Nulpuzha and F.H.C. Pozhuthana.
The team acknowledged the world-class standard of the physiotherapy center, gymnasium and palliative care services at Wayanad Nallurnadu FHC. They also expressed contentment with the active participation of the people and local self-government bodies across all districts.
