NEW DELHI: The crown and ornaments belonging to Ram Lalla in Ayodhya were made with gold, diamonds, emeralds and rubies worth billions. The idol has 18,567 diamonds, 2,984 rubies, 615 emeralds and 439 uncut diamonds. There is more than 15 kg of gold in total. The crown is made of 1.7 kg gold.
The jewellery was designed and manufactured by Harsahaimal Shyamalal Jewellers in Lucknow. Owner Ankur Anand said Ramayanam TV serial was the inspiration. It is also based on texts like Adhyatma Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitamanas for design. Gemstones are certified by the International Gemological Institute. 132 workers were engaged in jewellery making.
Crown: The 22 carat gold crown weighing 1.700 grams is studded with 75 carats of diamonds, 135 carats of Zambian emeralds and 262 carats of rubies. In the centre is the image of Surya indicating Suryavansa. Peacocks can also be seen
Tilak: Tilak weighs 16 grams in gold with 3 carats of natural diamond in the centre and 10 carats of small diamonds around it. Natural Burmese rubies has been used to adorn the Ajana Chakra between the eyebrows. The tilak is positioned in such a way that the first rays of the morning sun fall on it
Necklace: Made of 500 grams of gold, the necklace is studded with 50 carats of diamonds, 150 carats of rubies and 380 carats of emeralds. Suryavansh logo in the middle. Flowers studded with rubies and emeralds all around. Accompanying panchadala necklace with 550 carats of emeralds, 80 carats of diamonds and 60 carats of polki.
Gold Odhyanam: Weighs 750 grams, contains 70 carats of diamonds and 850 carats of rubies and emeralds. The arrow is made of 700 grams of gold. Encrusted with diamonds. A bow weighing kilos is also in gold
Jewellery: Vijayamala made of 22 carat gold weighing 660 grams. 400gm shoulder bangle in 22 carat gold, 850gm bangles with 100 carat diamonds, 320 carat rubies and emeralds on hands, 400gm gold anklet with diamonds and rubies.
Kaustubham: A kaustubham can been seen in place of a heart. The idol stands on a golden lotus.
11 crore crown by jeweller
A Gujarat jeweler named Mukesh Patel offered a gold crown studded with rare gems and rubies to Ram Lalla idol. The crown is worth Rs 11 crores and weighs six kgs. Mukesh is the owner of Green Lab Diamond Company in Surat. Mukesh and his family attended the ceremony and handed over the crown to the trustees. Mukesh said that two staff members were brought to the temple earlier for taking the measurements of the idol.
