ROME: Unlike in the past, weddings now have many different types of ceremonies and celebrations. Most of it is because we Malayalis see and imitate the customs of other states or countries. In Western countries, there are celebrations like dancing at weddings. Now the news has come out that one such celebration has turned into a tragedy.
While dancing, the wedding platform collapsed and around 30 people, including the bride and groom and guests, fell down 25 feet. The wedding took place at the famous Giaccherino Monastery in Pistoia, Italy. The wedding venue was arranged on the top floor of the building. As many people climbed in, the stage could not bear the weight and collapsed.
A major accident was avoided as the rescue operation started immediately. Several people, including the bride and groom, were injured. Six of them are seriously injured. The groom Paolo Mugnaini and the bride Valeria Ybarra say that about 150 people were invited to the ceremony. 'The stage collapsed while dancing and standing happily. I didn't understand what happened at first. It was dark all around. Many people came and fell outside of me. Parts of the collapsed stage were also falling on the body. ' - said Paolo Mugnaini.
Further investigations are underway into how the venue collapsed. The man who led the construction of the stage said that he did not know how the stage, which was built so strongly, collapsed, and that it was an unthinkable and completely unexpected accident.
