NEW DELHI: The second season of the Women's IPL (WPL) is set to kick off on February 23. In the opening match at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium defending champions Mumbai Indians will face runners-up Delhi Capitals.

All matches this season will be held in Delhi and Bengaluru, starting at 7:30 pm. The top five teams will secure direct qualification for the finals. Teams placed second and third will compete in an eliminator match, with the winner earning a spot in the final as the second team. The grand finale is scheduled for March 17.

Each participating team will play eight out of the total 22 matches. The five teams vying for the championship are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriors, Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals.
