PATNA: JDU Bihar President Umesh Kushwaha announced that it will not form a government with the BJP, refuting reports that Nitish Kumar and JDU would join the NDA front after leaving the India alliance. He clarified that India will remain in the alliance.

Following Kushwaha's statement, BJP leader Sushil Modi MP stated that the doors of NDA, including for Nitish Kumar, remain open. The central leadership will make an appropriate decision, with the National Executive Committee meeting scheduled in Bihar on Saturday and Sunday. A final decision is expected on that day.

Political remarks against the RJD, a Bihar coalition ally, and Rahul Gandhi's invitation refusal to the Bharat Jodo Yatra hinted at Nitish moving closer to the NDA, intensifying rumors. Nitish Kumar was displeased with the Bharatiya Front's election preparations and the lack of acceptance as the prime ministerial candidate.

Mamata and Arvind Kejriwal's proposal to consider a Dalit leader as the prime ministerial candidate, and Nitish's rejection of the convener position further strained relations. Mamata and Kejriwal now appear to distance themselves from the India Front, initiated by Nitish.
