KOLLAM: Yet another drama unfolded at Kollam Nilamel on Saturday after Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan came out from his security cordon to challenge a gang of 20 SFI members who waved black flags at Kollam Nilamel on Saturday.

The governor was on his way to attend a function in Sadanandapuram, Kottarakkara when the incident happened. Akin to the Thiruvananthapuram incident back in November, the Governor came out from his vehicle on Saturday and confronted the SFI workers. Police immediately arrested and moved all the SFI workers from the road. However, incensed with the lapse in security arrangements, the governor rebuked the police for not arresting the workers earlier. Governor alleged the police of purposefully providing space for SFI workers to interrupt his travel.

Adding more drama, the Governor didn’t get back to his vehicle but went near a tea shop, requested a chair, and then decided to sit there until police took a case against the SFI workers with serious charges.

“If the police are breaking the law, who will uphold the law, I will not go from here. You are giving protection to SFI workers. Police knew about the Governor's itinerary, so why didn't you take the necessary action? If needed I will call PMO now.” The governor raged against the police officers.

The governor has been stationed in the place for more than 30 minutes now. The situation is continuing tense with the police trying hard to alleviate the situation.
