THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CRPF has taken over the security of Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The action follows the order of the Union Home Ministry. A 30-member CRPF team reached the Raj Bhavan. They then provided security for Arif Mohammed Khan's journey to Muscat hotel.
The Kerala Police team which provided security earlier is also continuing with the Governor. After the event at the Muscat Hotel, the Governor will leave for Bengaluru at six o'clock. The governor's journey will now be completely decided by the security officials.

Earlier there was a protest against the Governor at Nilamel, Kollam. The Governor had gone to attend a meeting at Swami Sadananda Ashram. He got out of the car and sat in front of the roadside shop to protest after the protesters showed him a black flag. He finally got back into the car, after seeing the copy of the FIR. The Union Home Ministry, who came to know about the incident, provided Z Plus CRPF security to the Governor.

Z Plus CRPF is the highest security in the country after SPG. A bullet proof vehicle will also be provided. Reports say NSG commandos will also provide security to the governor if needed. Currently, only 40 people in the country are given Z Plus security. SFI workers had protested against the Governor in Thiruvananthapuram a little while ago.
