THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Paramount Velayudhan (94), the helmsman of the famous Paramount Studios in Thiruvananthapuram, passed away. He breathed his last on Saturday at his residence in Kunnumpuram Lane near Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. Velayudhan took charge of Paramount Studio in 1960. He then achieved many feats in the field of photography. In 1984, he entered the public arena after handing over the charge of the studio to his second son, Suresh. He served as a worker and office bearer of Sree Narayana Trust and Sree Narayana Club.

Velayudhan was at the forefront in beginning the Sree Narayana Public School at Chengotukonam. He worked as the secretary of the school for a long time. Later, he established the Vidyamount School at Edavilakam near Mangalapuram under the Paramount Educational Trust. Wife: K.N. Vimaladevi, other children: Dr. V. Shyam (UK), Asha Wilson. The funeral will take place on Sunday at 2.30 pm at Saanthi Kavadam.
