THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Biju Prabhakar may be removed from the post of KSRTC chief as Minister Ganesh Kumar wants a CMD who agrees with his stand. The minister will soon inform the same to the Chief Minister. However, Biju may not be removed from the post of Transport Secretary soon.

Ganesh Kumar had argued that the e-bus was a loss as soon as he assumed office. The report of KSRTC has come out which proves that the minister's argument is wrong. This angered Ganesh Kumar.

Biju Prabhakar had expressed his willingness to step down as MD of KSRTC in the discussion held after Ganesh Kumar took charge. Biju Prabhakar opined that the post of MD should be given to Joint MD Pramoj Shankar in April and that he would continue as chairman. Last August, Biju Prabhakar had informed the chief secretary of his willingness to step down from the post of CMD.

At that time, the Minister Antony Raju rejected it. Despite the financial crisis, the daily income had crossed Rs 9 crores.

Ganesh Kumar has suggested changes in all the reforms implemented by Antony Raju. Apart from e-bus, changes have been proposed in the schedule, duty, spare change and online reforms implemented in two-and-a-half years.

CPM has corrected the minister regarding e-bus, but no decision has been taken regarding the purchase of e-buses through Smart City, KIIFB and PM e-Seva schemes.

Biju Prabhakar returned from Australia last night.

There is also a move to place one of the four KAS officers who were recently appointed as Executive Directors in KSRTC, as MD. Four KAS officers were appointed on the recommendation of Biju Prabhakar.
