PATTAYA: A British base jumper who jumped from the top of a 29-storey building after his parachute failed to open, fell to his death. The incident happened on Saturday at Pattaya in Thailand. A 33-year-old man identified as Nathy Odinson, who is famous for skydiving, died after hitting his head on the ground.

The local residents informed the police at 7.30 pm last night that a person had jumped from the top of the building and fell through the trees. Paramedics rushed to the spot, pronounced him dead. An investigation into the accident has been launched.

Authorities said that he illegally skydived from the top of a 29-storey building near Pattaya Beach. He was not given permission for skydiving. The security guard said that Nathy had previously skydived from the same building.

Police said Nathy parked his car outside and went upstairs to do a base jump with his friend capturing a video of the skydive. After the countdown, he jumped from the building, but his parachute failed to open. With this, he fell on the ground and died. The police have registered a case and an investigation has started into the incident.
