THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Conflict in the Mahila Congress march held yesterday by the activists with empty pots against the price hike. MP Jebi Mather and three other activists were injured in the water cannon firing.

After the opposition leader inaugurated the strike, activists threw clay pots on the road and broke them. Later, shouting slogans, the activists threw parts of the broken pot over the barricade at the police. With this, the police used water cannons. Jebi Mather MP and activists were injured in three powerful water cannon firing. Jebi Mather became unwell and collapsed. The activists then approached Jebi Mather and sat on the ground and raised slogans. Later, activists blocked MG Road with injured people. Following this, the police vehicle arrived and shifted the injured to the hospital.

Extravaganza and corruption: VD Satheesan

Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan said in his inaugural speech that extravagance and corruption are the top priorities of the Pinarayi government. The government is mocking the people by conducting Keraleeyam and Navakerala Sadas. The state has been ruined. He also said that pensions are not being given to differently-abled persons and widows for five months.
