THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PK Kunjalikutty thwarted the government's plan to ensnare the opposition by engaging in talks about the urgent resolution concerning the financial crisis.

The opposition, refraining from the February 8 strike in Delhi, alleges that the central government is responsible for Kerala's economic woes. The government tried to paint the opposition as indifferent to Kerala's issues, giving in to discussions to exploit this perception. However, during the motion discussion, PK Kunjalikutty pointed out the illogical nature of a united strike without considering the reasons behind it. The government failed to respond to how rivals can join forces in a strike when they are competing against each other. This weakened the ruling party's defense against opposition accusations.

Roji M. John, presenting the motion blamed financial mismanagement for the crisis, citing a debt of about 26,500 crore rupees across various categories. Mathew Kuzhalnadan highlighted the absurdity of advocating for more borrowing as a solution to the problem. Kunhalikutty emphasized that the government fails to recognize the severity of the economic crisis. He drew parallels to a similar crisis during AK Antony's tenure as Chief Minister accusing the current government of lacking the same urgency.
