PALAKKAD: The Kerala police team, which got stranded in the jungle while searching for a ganja plantation, has returned. There were fourteen people in the group including Palakkad Agali DySP. Employees of Mukkali Forest Station were also in the team. They came to the inner forest in search of a cannabis plantation inside the forest. In the meantime, they lost their way and got stranded in the forest.
The DySP, who returned said that there was the disturbance of wild animals in the forest. The DySP said the ganja plantation found in the forest has been destroyed and a case would be registered on it. A joint team comprising of police and forest department personnel went into the forest for regular inspection. They spent around twelve hours in the forest. They got trapped under Satyamala. They returned at 6 this morning. The officials said the injuries sustained are minor.
The police had informed the other day that many including the forest department officials are with the group and there is no need to worry. The team went to inspect the presence of Maoists in the forest.
