PEERUMEDU: CPM is committed to ensuring justice for the family of a six-year-old girl who was brutally tortured to death in Vandiperiyar. M.V. Govindan, the State Secretary of CPM, declared this at a public meeting organized by the CPM district committee to aid the grieving family.

Govindan asserted that CPM will exhaust all efforts to seek justice and support the victim's family. Despite a court ruling acquitting the accused, CPM plans to appeal the decision. Initially deemed an accidental death, a police investigation revealed the horrifying truth of murder.

Despite unwavering witness statements, political opponents, including Congress and BJP have maliciously targeted CPM. Govindan emphasized that CPM remains unswayed and politically neutral on the matter. He highlighted the ongoing legal process and assured that a competent prosecutor will handle the case.

CPM district committee collected 11 lakh rupees for the family relief fund. State Secretary M.V. Govindan handed over this sum to the family members who faced a financial burden of 7.5 lakh rupees including interest on a loan. The fund will settle their debts and assist in completing the stalled house construction. The girl's mother, father and grandfather expressed gratitude for the timely support.
