NEW DELHI: The central government is gearing up to tighten the noose against Veena Vijayan, the daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced an SFIO probe against Veena's company Exalogic.
The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is an organization that investigates frauds related to companies under the Companies Act. The agency has the power to even arrest the accused if found guilty. KSIDC has also been included in the ambit of the SFIO probe against Exalogic. The probe into the deal between Exalogic and CMRL will also be under the purview of the SFIO. The investigation will be conducted by a team comprising top officials of the Corporate Law Service.
