NEW DELHI: President Draupadi Murmu announced in a parliamentary session the realization of the centuries-old dream to construct a Ram temple, stating that the installation of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya fulfilled the aspirations of millions.

During the policy announcement preceding the Lok Sabha elections, the NDA government highlighted a decade of achievements. India achieved over 7.5% economic growth, becoming the fastest-growing economy globally amid a global crisis. Noteworthy accomplishments included Chandrayaan, Aditya, G20 Summit organization, and the Women's Reservation Act. Poverty eradication efforts succeeded, with exports reaching $77,500 crore and foreign investment doubling.

Initiatives like Make in India and Atmanirbhar bolstered India's position as the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer. Defense production surpassed Rs 1 lakh crore, and Digital India streamlined people's lives and businesses.

President Murmu emphasized significant investment in empowering youth, women, farmers, and the poor, contributing to increased savings for the common people. Measures to lower costs and enhance farm profitability were implemented, aligning with the goal of human-centered development.

The BJP agenda, as read by the President, included the Ram Temple, with no mention of issues such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, unemployment, or price rise. Opposition member Kodikunnil Suresh criticized the omission stressing the need to address the concerns of various segments of society.

The government's commitment to five-year programs and 25-year guidelines for comprehensive development was emphasized, particularly in responding to humanitarian crises.
