RANCHI: Jharkhand is poised for political sabotage after JMM leader Hemant Soren resigned from the post of chief minister. Governor CP Radhakrishnan is yet to invite Champai Soren, who was proposed by the JMM to replace Hemant as Chief Minister, to form the government. JMM alleges that the Governor is giving time to the BJP to carry out a political sabotage.
Meanwhile, the move to shift the JMM-Congress MLAs to Hyderabad has already started. Reportedly, Champai Soren and MLAs have reached Ranchi Airport. They are being shifted to Hyderabad to prevent the BJP from influencing the MLAs. News agency reports that two chartered planes have been arranged for this purpose.
The JMM-Congress alliance has 47 MLAs in the 80-member assembly. 30 of them are JMM members. Earlier, 41 MLAs of the alliance had come forward demanding that Champai Soren be made the Chief Minister. They are now at the airport with Champai Soren.
Hemant had called a meeting of party MLAs when there was a situation that he would have to resign following the ED action. Although the move to make Kalpana the chief minister was tabled in the meeting, opposition from party MLAs turned negative.
