KOLLAM: The Home Department on Thursday suspended two judicial officers in connection with the suicide of S Aneeshya, Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Paravur Munsiff Magistrate's Court. Kollam Deputy Director of Prosecution Abdul Jaleel and Paravur 1st Class Magistrate Court Assistant Public Prosecutor KR Shyam Krishna were suspended pending investigation. Aneeshya had raised allegations against the two in the voice clips she sent to some of her friends before committing suicide.

Aneeshya was found hanging in the bathroom of her house near the Nedungolam Post Office on December 21st. Before committing suicide, Aneeshya had sent voicemails to some friends and women lawyers stating that she underwent brutal mental torture from her colleague and superior.

Police also found a 19-page suicide note with the same remarks in Aneeshya's diary. Apart from this, Aneeshya had also sent a voice message to the Paravur Magistrate.

Aneeshya had filed a complaint pointing out that her fellow judicial officer did not appear in court without applying for leave in writing. Apart from this, Abdul Jaleel and Shyam Krishna also mentally tortured her alleging that she was behind the right-to-information request received by the Kollam Deputy Director General of Prosecution regarding the leave information of the colleague. The accused judicial officers also publicly insulted Aneeshya by reading out her confidential report in a meeting of judicial officials convened in Kollam.

Following the suicide of Aneeshya, the lawyers have been staging a boycott demanding action against the accused judicial officers.
