RANCHI: The political uncertainty in Jharkhand following the resignation of Hemant Soren, who was arrested by the ED, has come to an end. Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Thursday night invited JMM leader Champai Soren to form the new government. Champai Soren will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Friday.
Following the resignation of Hemant Soren, Champai Soren met the Governor the other day and informed him about the support of the MLAs. However, the Governor did not invite him to form the government. Jharkhand politics has been witnessing a dramatic turn of events in the last 24 hours.
The JMM had alleged that the Governor was giving time to the BJP to carry out sabotage as he did not invite Champai Soren to form the government despite receiving information about the support of the MLAs. The JMM-Congress alliance has the support of 47 members in the 81-member House.
