laptop

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Revenue inspector who received a laptop as a bribe for construction permit in the Corporation has been suspended. Municipal Secretary Binu Francis suspended Revenue Inspector Maya VS of Ulloor zonal office.

The bribe was to prepare the permit for the building of a leading builder in city. The revenue inspector said that no computer or laptop was set up and it was K-Smart's problem. The builder gave her a laptop worth Rs 50,000 as she told over the phone that the permit would be given immediately if she was given a laptop as a gift. A few days later, when the audio clip of the revenue inspector demanding a laptop came out from the builder's phone, an investigation was conducted at the secretary level and the inspector was suspended. The builder did not file any complaint. As the incident became controversial, the revenue inspector returned the laptop to the builder. Maya, who was in Attipra zonal, was given charge of Ulloor zonal six months ago. Corporation will conduct further investigation against her.

Bribe from IFS man too
