THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Renowned lyricist and director Sreekumaran Thampi has lashed out at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi. In his Facebook post, Sreekumaran Thampi alleged that the Sahitya Akademi insulted him after asking him to write a Kerala song for the government.

According to Sreekumaran Thampi, it was Akademi president K Satchidanandan and secretary Abubakar who approached him asking him to write the song. 'After I wrote the song, they asked me to rewrite it. They did not inform me whether the edited song was accepted or not. Later, I saw an advertisement inviting Kerala song from poets,' Sreekumaran Thampi wrote.

Sreekumaran Thambi made the allegation soon after poet Balachandran Chullikad revealed an experience he faced from the Sahitya Academy.
