PATHANAMTHITTA: Three people were swept away in the current of Pampa river. Anil Kumar, his daughter Niranjana and Anil's nephew Gautam were the victims. Gautham's dead body was found. The accident took place in Ranni Chinnakadavu.

The search for Anil and Niranjana is still going on. The police, fire force and locals are conducting the search. According to reports, Gautham is a ninth-standard student. The family was living on rent in the area. Minister Roshi Augustine has reached the spot.

Last week, a tribal youth had drowned while trying to swim across the Pampa River. Sanu (37), a coconut tree climber, died. The incident took place at Madamon on Thursday around 4 pm. Locals said Sanu swam across the Pampa River from the jetty at Madamon School to reach his home on the other side but drowned in the deep water just before reaching the other side. The body was found after an hour of search by the fire and rescue.
