ENGANDIYOOR: A man died after being stabbed during an argument between friends in Anchamkallu. Mithun Mohan (28), son of Olarikkara Pullazhi Vellaparampil Mohanan, who lives in a relative's house in the market area, died. He passed away at 8 am yesterday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thrissur.
The attack took place at Anchamkallu West on Saturday around 6 pm. Vadanappally police have arrested four accused in the incident. Engandiyoor Puthenvila Sunilkumar (35), Olat Jishnulal (29), Chemban Rajesh (34) and Olat Shaji (54) were arrested.
Mithun and the four accused friends were drinking together at a bar in Anchamkallu when there was an argument. The police said that Mithun Mohan, who had gone to the beach on a bike, was followed by the four-member group in an auto and stopped at Anchamkallu West and during the argument, Sunilkumar of the gang stabbed Mithun in the stomach with a knife in his hand. Mithun Mohan was rushed to the hospital in Thrissur, but he died while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
Two of the accused were handed over to the police by the Sanatana Ambulance staff on the pretense of admitting them to the hospital and the other two were taken into custody from Engandiyoor yesterday morning.
