THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the new cyber division of the Kerala Police tomorrow at 10:30 am at the Thiruvananthapuram Police Training College, Thycaud. Antony Raju MLA will preside.
State Police Chief Dr. Sheikh Darvesh Sahib and other senior police officers will be present. A new cyber division is being started in the police as a part of taking action against increasing cyber violence. There will be 465 police officers under the IG who is in charge of cyber operations. Help desks, research and learning systems, training department, cyber patrol units and cyber intelligence department are coming up as part of cyber division.
The chief minister will distribute trophies and certificates to the SHO and police officers of Malappuram Kuttipuram police station, which has been chosen by the Union Home Ministry as the ninth best police station in the country.
