THRISSUR: Former minister and CPM leader AC Moideen said that his property was not confiscated by the ED. He told the media that the ED did not express doubts or seek clarification on the figures given. He further said that legal action will be taken against the action of ED.
"The asset freezing process was extended at the request of the ED. ED's move is political hunting. The ED is now making a move ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. His earnings are legitimate. Only the money received by me as a representative of the people and my wife as a government employee are the only savings," he said.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Adjudicating Authority upheld the confiscation of the property. After the raid, the ED confiscated Rs 40 lakh in six bank accounts of Moideen's wife and daughter. CPM local leader of Thrissur is under ED probe in Karuvannur bank fraud case.
