abhinav-

KOCHI: 10-year-old Abhinav Krishna is getting noticed for making colorful pictures with Rubik's cubes. It took only one and a half hours for him to craft a colourful image of Sree Narayana Gurudev with 300 cubes. Abhinav's aptitude for both drawing and mathematics helps him. Abhinav is a class 5 student of Poothotta KPMHS.

It's a pleasure to watch the picture-making, where both mental calculation and hand-speed work together. Pictures of Jesus Christ, Gandhiji, APJ Abdul Kalam, Mammootty, Mohanlal and national flags of 40 countries have been prepared by Abhinav at various venues. Each cube is 5.5 cm in length and width. The picture is constructed in a frame where 15 cubes can be placed in a row across and 20 cubes can be placed vertically. The higher the number of cubes, the higher the clarity of the image.

Abhinav's mother, Indu, who became an expert in Rubik's Cube through youtube videos, has been training him since the age of five. Younger son UKG student Advait Krishna is also practicing. Abhinav's father is TM Bijoy, a native of Amballur, an officer in Infopark.

The parents say that they turned their son's attention to the Rubik's Cube to reduce his the excessive use of mobile phones and it was a good decision.

How to learn

The first step is to download the "Rubix Cube Mosaic Generator" on your mobile phone. You have to upload your desired image in the frame here and record how many cubes you have. The frames needed at each step of the image will be available in the app. You have to check this and set the cubes in the frame you have.

One should learn how to rotate the blocks clockwise and counterclockwise to form each part of the picture. If you memorize it, you won't have to refer to the mobile.

"Teachers including Head Master Anoop encouraged him. An opportunity was created in the school assembly. Art festivals should include the Rubik's Cube as an item.
