NEW DELHI: Delhi court has summoned Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, in connection with a liquor policy case. The court directed him to appear before investigating officers on February 17.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent notices to Arvind Kejriwal five times asking him to appear for questioning in the case. The last notice was sent on February 2. Initially, a notice was sent on November 2, followed by notices on December 21, January 19 and January 31. The fifth notice was issued when he did not respond.

In response, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that he has been promised safety if he joins the BJP, and he refuses to comply. Earlier, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP had offered Rs 25 crore each to party MLAs to topple the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's objective is to arrest Kejriwal and destabilize the Delhi government, which they vow to resist.
