THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC CMD Biju Prabhakar has written to the Chief Secretary expressing his willingness to step down as MD of KSRTC. It is reported that he will also vacate the post of Transport Secretary.
It is reported that Biju Prabhakar wrote the letter to the Chief Secretary due to a difference of opinion with Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar. Ganesh Kumar had publicly disagreed with various decisions taken by the KSRTC management. This prompted Biju Prabhakar to take the stand that he should also be removed from the post of KSRTC MD. The stand taken by Ganesh Kumar on the issue related to electric buses also aggravated the rift between the two.
Biju Prabhakar sent the letter to the Chief Secretary after returning from abroad. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will take the final decision in this regard. Biju Prabhakar has not visited the KSRTC office or decided on the files ever since he returned from abroad on January 28. A controversy had erupted after Ganesh Kumar stated that electric buses were not profitable.
