NEW DELHI: When Kerala CM, LDF ministers and other top leaders were busy organizing the protest against central government atrocities, Governor Arif Muhammad Khan was couched at the Cochin house inside the Kerala house complex, just 150 m away from the protest site.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who inaugurated the event took a jibe at Governor Khan with a sly criticism against central government.
“The governor of Kerala is always away from the state on tour. He is here today (Kerala House). Some people inside the Kerala House even asked whether the governor came to attend the protest or not. While in Kerala, the governor won’t even spare time to read the policy address but has got more than enough time to do theatrics on the road” CM Pinarayi Vijayan said.
“According to the constitution, the governors are supposed to act on the advice of the state governments. By delaying major bills that assure reforms, Governors in opposition states are following the directives of the central government. This was also criticized by the Supreme Court.” CM mentioned.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan also warned that the governor is playing with fire.
Meanwhile, the Governor retorted back saying all his programs have the approval of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
"People who have not even invited me to Onam celebrations are now complaining' governor commented about not attending the protest when queried by the media.
